Mel Cabodil, President

Mel is currently the IBM GTS Consulting Leader for ASEAN.  He leads a team of Associate Partners in IBM GTS to helps drive consulting business for Infrastructure Solutions and contributes to the development and growth of IBM Consulting Services in the region.   He has years of experience leading various Infrastructure Consulting portfolio in ASEAN countries, from his role in managing the Consulting Practice of Symantec Services and just recently Microsoft Services. He also founded a few Consulting startups in the Philippines, in the area of Security and Business Resiliency.

Mel has spent most of his career with IBM GTS, where he started as a Customer Engineer moved to IT Specialist profession and various management and leadership roles. He has managed various Service Lines from Technical Support Services, Business Resiliency Services, Systems Management and GTS Delivery. In 2011, he eventually led the entire GTS Business of IBM Philippines. He has extensive experience in Resiliency having been certified as CBCP from Disaster Recovery Institute International (DRII) He has founded the Business Continuity Managers Association of the Philippines (BCMAP) in 2005 and leads the association since then. 

 

Chito Africa, Vice-President

Chito Africa is a Senior Vice President of Citibank, N.A.  He has been with Citibank for twenty (20) years and has held various leadership positions over this period.  He is currently the Head of the Service Desk and Deskside Services of the Citigroup Technology Infrastructure (CTI) of the Asia Pacific region.  CTI is a global organization within Citigroup that provides technology infrastructure products and services to Citigroup businesses, subsidiaries and affiliates worldwide.  As the Regional Head of the Service Desk and Deskside Services, he is responsible for creating an excellent technology support experience for the Citigroup workforce characterized by ease of interaction, speed of delivery and technical excellence.

Chito has been a practitioner in the field of Information Technology (IT) for twenty nine (29) years.  In his other previous responsibilities, he has managed various IT services such as project management; business continuity management; systems development, implementation and integration; infrastructure projects implementation; facilities and data center operations and maintenance; and IT training programs development.  His exposure covers a wide variety of hardware and software platforms ranging from PC to Mainframe systems, and from data communications infrastructure systems (LAN/WAN) to voice infrastructure systems (PABX and adjunct voice equipment).

Chito is currently in the board of directors and the Vice President of the Business Continuity Managers Association of the Philippines (BCMAP).  He was the president of the organization in 2007.

 

 

 

Jaycee dela Cruz, Secretary

Jaycee is currently affiliated with several institutions namely the Philippine Insurance Reinsurance Association, a non-life insurance association, and Xyxon Limited, a Japanese firm centered on HeartCore Content Management System. He has been a practitioner in the field of Insurance for more than thirty (30) years. He has managed various services such as project management; information system audit; business continuity; system quality assurance and stress management; systems audit management; systems and database administration; systems documentation; personnel administration; helpdesk support management; business plan administration and organization development. Mr. Cruz has contributed his abilities and skills to several companies over the years such as Mapfre Insular Insurance Corporation, Loyola Plans Consolidated, Incorporated, BAP Credit Bureau Incorporated, Pan Pacific Computer Center Inc., Lifetime Plans, Community & Family Insurance Brokers Inc., Charter Ping An Insurance Corp., and DELA CRUZ Business Management Consultancy.

Jaycee is a Certified Business Continuity Professional from Disaster Recovery Institute International (DRII)

 

 

Carolyn Atido, Treasurer

Carolyn is skilled in risk management, information systems audit, data center control and operations; compliance, operational process review. She has worked with  universal and commercial banks, covering areas branch operations, head office operations, Information Technology and business continuity management.  She has designed and developed bank’s  risk management frameworks for Operational Risk, Information Technology Risk and Business Continuity Management, as well as, risk identification and measurement tools. She has worked for 3 years in Data Center operations as Data Control Supervisor having 6 direct reports in a bank with over 100 branches, as Senior IT auditor for a period of 4 years with 1 direct report, as Chief Accountant in a manufacturing firm with head office operations based  in Japan. Team lead in facilitating organization wide business continuity management initiatives, including testing and drills, as the organization’s BCP Process Coordinator, mobilizing  46 business units. Also, a subject matter expert and resource speaker conducting training and seminars in risk management, operational risk  and business continuity management.

Carolyn is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) by profession with 8 years of  experience in general and cost accounting for manufacturing industry and Member & Subject Matter Expert  Volunteer - Professional Risk Managers International Association (PRMIA). She is also civil service eligible

 

 

Cherry Ann Cruz, Auditor

Cherry Ann has almost 35 years of banking experience, working with Land Bank of the Philippines. With 9 years of Risk Management Experience; she pioneered LBP’s Business Risk Management Department (BRMD) in 2003, having established a proactive Risk-based culture by disseminating relevant risk management philosophy through cascadings and echo trainings; implemented a silo and bankwide risk identification and measurement methodology. With 7 years of designation as Business Continuity Officer; Designated as LBP’s BCO conducting nationwide oversight of the implementation of the Bank’s Business Continuity Management Program (BCM)  from 2005 up to 2011, having developed  and updated the Bank’s Business Continuity Plan (BCP) with a comprehensive compilation of contingency measures and definition of strategies. With 10 years of Branch Management Exprience; headed four (4) big branches in Metro Manila as Branch Manager handling marketing of products and services and overseeing the  Bank branch operations and its ATMs. With 13 years of Audit Experience; As Auditor, conducted management and financial audits of various units of the Bank, ?devised a Credit Review System and Audit Procedures which were adopted upon set up of a Credit Review Department; participated in the co-development of a Risk – Based Internal Audit Methodology (RBIA) as Risk Management Overseer and as head of Auditee Unit.

Cherry Ann is also with 2 years Compliance Management Experience. She was able to attend the International Scholarship under Colombo Plan  and represent the Bank and the Philippines to Foreign Bankers Conferences. She also underwent Executive Management Program,  Compliance Management Courses, and Risk Management Trainings

 

 

Michael Mangohig, Director for Programs

Michael is currently the Business Continuity Managers of Safeway.

 

 

Eugene Daga, Director for Certification 

Eugene has worked in fields such as Business Continuity Management, Operational Risk Management, Project Management, Quality Management, and Business Process Management.  He has been working as a Business Continuity Officer with Manulife Financial Asia including Japan from May 2014 to Present. He has worked as Head for Business Continuity Management & Operations Control with Planters Development Bank from January 2012 to April 2014. He has worked as Head for Quality Assurance and Business Continuity Management with Eastwest Banking Corporation from August 2009 to December 2011. He has worked as Head for Business Continuity Management & Operations Contro with AIG Philam Savings Bank from April 2006 to August 2009. He has worked as Head for Items Processing and Operations Quality Control with AIG Philam Savings Bank from October 2005 to April 2006. He has worked with Citibank, NA Philippines as Collections Management Training Officer from October 2004 to September 2005, as Credit and Credit and Risk Control Officer from December, 2000 to September, 2004?, and as Collections Admin Officer March 1997 to December 2000.

 

 

 

Glenn Peralta, Director for Membership

Glenn is currently the Operational Risk Consultant of Wells Fargo Enterprise Global Services. He has 16 Years of professional experience that includes specialization in Business Continuity and Information Management, BS25999, ISO 22301:2012 implementation, Finance Operations, Technical Support and Call center Operations Management. He has 7 years of Business Continuity professional experience in global financial operations. He graduated with a bachelors degree in information technology, AMA university Makati, 2002. He is a certified MBCI, Member of Business Continuity Institute.

 

 

Keith Chan, Director for External Relations

Keith has over 25 years of experience in the field of Information Technology management in manufacturing, wholesale and retail trading, real estate, airline, hospitality services and banking; and 12 years serving as IT Group Head and the technology disaster recovery in-charge for a bank. He pioneered Cloud service models transformation (SaaS and IaaS) in Philippine banking technology that gained international recognitions for top innovative banking technology implementations from Singapore based institutions. He has participated as a member of the Banking Sector Technical Working Group during a Philippine Multi-Sectoral Pandemic Preparedness Project supported by the International Medical Corps and the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) in 2012. He is a certified Associate Business Continuity Professional from the Disaster Recovery Institute, International.

 

 

Armand Maguiling, Director for Youth Affairs

 
Armand is currently the Business Continuity Managers of AXA Philippines. He has 15 years’ worth of experience as an IT professional managing different positions for different companies. He has over 5 years of Business Continuity practice. He is an associate member of the Safety Organization of the Philippines. He is an active member of the Fire Brigade and First Aider of AXA Philippines.  

 

 

Joanna Laddaran, Director for Public Sector Relations


Joanna is currently the University Extension Specialist I of the University of The Philippines Institute For Small-Scale Industries. She is a subject matter expert of Business Continuity with several speaking engagements in events such as The  Business Coninuity Planning Awareness Program for The Malabon Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office,  Business Continuity Planning Workshop for SME Partners of Unilever Philippines, Business Continuity Planning Seminar (conducted by UP ISSI for the Department of Agrarian Reform), and the like. She has completed trainings for business continuity in Business Continuity & Disaster Recovery Management Course; APEC Capacity Building Program on Strengthening Governments’ Role in Promoting Business Continuity Planning (BCP) to Mitigate against the Impact of Disasters (conducted by the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade – Australia and APEC); APEC Train-the-Trainer Workshop on Promoting SME Business Continuity Plans (conducted by the APEC SME Crisis Management Center and Taiwan Institute of Economic Research);.
