Ramil "Mel" Cabodil, President
Mel is an advocate of Business Continuity in the country and this motivated him to establish the Business Continuity Manager’s Association of the Philippines (BCMAP). He was the founding President of this association in 2005, which was formalized as a non-profit NGO of the Philippines in 2011. BCMAP started as the official forum organizer of the Business Continuity Institute and now represents Disaster Recovery Institute International (DRII) in the Philippines.
His extensive experience on disaster recovery enabled him to be the first Certified Business Continuity Professional (CBCP) of Disaster Recovery Institute International (DRII) in the Philippines. He got his certification from DRII in 2004. He continues to maintain this certification today and currently the Executive Director of DRI Philippines. He conducts Business Continuity certification classes for DRII and a Resource Speaker/Lecturer of the Ateneo Graduate School of Business – Center for Continuous Education.
He is currently the Country Manager of Technology Support Services of IBM Philippines. He is responsible for supporting and keeping the critical IT systems up and running for IBM clients in the country.
Eugene "Yooge" Daga, Vice-President
Yooge has over 10 years of solid experience in Business Continuity Management spanning across the Banking, Finance, Insurance & BPO industries. He is also a member of the Disaster Recovery International Institute – Philippines and a Certified DRII trainor. He has been a resource speaker in several forums and recently as part of the Ateneo Graduate School of Business – Center for Continuous Education. He has also managed ISO certification specifically ISO 22301 for Business Continuity Management & ISO 9001 for Quality Management.
His practical approach in managing Business Continuity is the result of the multiple responsibilities he had in his corporate career. With years of experience in Credit, Quality, Risk & Controls, Safety, Process Engineering, Operations & Enterprise Risk, he has been able to apply key BCM principles in different situations while maintaining an enterprise-wide perspective in building corporate resilience without sacrificing controls. In recent years, he has undertaken the responsibility of handling data privacy, information security & safety to bring his BCM experience to full circle.
Joselito Martin "Topets" Capinpin, Secretary
Topets is currently a Director and the Secretary of the Business Continuity Managers’ Association of the Philippines (BCMAP). He is also the Services Director and Consultant of Octal Philippines Inc., a local IT Technology and Consulting Company.
A certified Project Management Professional (PMP), he has been in the IT industry for the past 30 years. He worked in IBM Phils. for 28 years and served in various Services leadership and delivery roles. He has handled projects involving data center construction and relocation, network and cabling systems deployment and integration, hardware and software systems maintenance, systems and storage management implementations, and high availability solution implementations, including business recovery services and quality programs.
He is also an Accredited Business Continuity Professional, a certified Instructor for IT Disaster Recovery from Disaster Recovery Institute International and a Resource Speaker/Lecturer of the Ateneo Graduate School of Business – Center for Continuing Education
Jaycee Dela Cruz, Treasurer
Jaycee, an IT executive for more than 25 years in various industries, namely non-life insurance business, pre-need business, banking institution, software development institution, cooperative institutions & project management on various enterprise-size associations. He is an advocate of Business Continuity Management and presently a Vice-Chair of the Business Continuity Managers Association of the Philippines (BCMAP). He is a Certified Business Continuity Professional (CBCP) and an Associate Member Business Continuity Institute (AMBCI), a certified DRII instructor for CBCP & BCP 501 course. Jaycee is currently the CEO of the CFC Cooperatives Federation with 44 cooperative-primaries nationwide. He is also a missionary of Couples for Christ in charge of the Prison Ministry (national). He is the incumbent President of the BJMP-NCR Service Providers Association Regional Council (SPARC). He is a member of the Values Formation and Spiritual Transformation Council Inc. (VFSTCI); he is one of the Values Advocate Chaplain given a military rank equivalent to Lt. Coronel. Jaycee is now advocating the welfare of the Persons Deprived of Liberty (PDLs) in coordination the BJMP National Headquarters, and at the same time promoting the values of cooperativism in various sectors of the Philippines.
Jaycee is a product of Polytechnic University of the Philippines (PUP), a graduate of the Bachelor in Applied Economics, a recipient of Military Science CMT Advanced Course (PUP Corps Commander Class ‘82). He obtained his executive Masteral program in Business Economics (CBE) with Distinction at the University of Asia & the Pacific (UA&P), and Master in Business Administration (MBA) at the International Academy of Management & Economics (IAME).
Keith Chan, Auditor
Keith has over 25 years of experience in the field of Information Technology management in manufacturing, wholesale and retail trading, real estate, airline, hospitality services and banking; and 12 years serving as IT Group Head and the technology disaster recovery in-charge for a bank. He pioneered Cloud service models transformation (SaaS and IaaS) in Philippine banking technology that gained international recognitions for top innovative banking technology implementations from Singapore based institutions. He has participated as a member of the Banking Sector Technical Working Group during a Philippine Multi-Sectoral Pandemic Preparedness Project supported by the International Medical Corps and the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) in 2012. He is a certified Associate Business Continuity Professional from the Disaster Recovery Institute, International.
He is currently the Vice President for Information Technology of Wilcon Depot, Inc.
Sebastian "Baste" Puache, Director (Membership Committee)
Baste is the Chairman of the Certification Committee of BCMAP. He joined BCMAP last 2017 and was conferred the Certified Business Continuity Professional title that year by DRI International. He became a Certified Instructor for Business Continuity the following year. He conducts Business Continuity certification classes for DRII and a Resource Speaker/Lecturer of the Ateneo Graduate School of Business – Center for Continuous Education.
He is also a Certified Protection Professional (ASIS International), Certified Security Professional (PSIS International), and finished various courses in Incident Command, Lean Six Sigma, Fire Search and Rescue, Emergency Medical Technician Course (AREMT), Data Protection (TÜV Rheinland), Hazard Analysis Critical Control Points (SGS Academy), Occupational Safety and Health and others.
Aside from being a public servant, he is currently the Managing Director of BSAFE Consultancy and Training, Inc.
Glenn Peralta, Director (Certification Committee)
Glenn currently holds the Resiliency Officer position at Wells Fargo Philippines. He has 17 years of professional experience that includes specialization in Business Continuity and Information Management, ISO22301:2019 BCMS for Finance Operations and Business Process Outsourcing local and international. He joined the banking industry to continue his support for the Enterprise Business Continuity Management advocacies, enabling multinational engagements and Resiliency efforts.
Prior to joining his current organization, he was the Business Continuity Management Advisor for Shell Business Operations, Philippines (2010-2016).
Glenn holds the MBCI title granted by the Business Continuity Institute (BCI) since 2015. He continues to maintain this certification today and currently BCMAP’s Director for Youth affairs.
Michael Mangohig, Director (Programs Committee)
Mike is currently a Certified Business Continuity Professional (CBCP) from the certification commission of DRI (Disaster Recovery Institute) International. One of the Board of Directors of BCMAP (Business Continuity Managers Association of the Philippines).
Before joining Safeway, Mike was one of the three-member team of the Business Continuity Planning Group of Convergys Corporation. Primarily handling the sites in the Philippines, Malaysia, China, Egypt and Tunisia. He became a member of the CCAP and IBPAP BCP Council, representing Convergys. Mike have been in the IT industry for more than ten years, almost three years in the Academe (part-time College Lecturer) and more than 10 years in Business Continuity. He graduated BS Electronics and Communications Engineering from Mapua Institute of Technology.
He is currently the IT Resiliency / Business Continuity Manager of Albertsons – Safeway (Safeway Philtech Inc.). A member of GiCC BCP Sub-committee as well representing Safeway Philtech.
Arvin Manuel, Director (Diversity and Inclusions Committee)
Alvin is a Senior Director in the Consulting Services of SGV/EY Philippines. He has helped companies deal with resilience, cybersecurity and risk management issues from strategic organization-wide diagnostics & design projects to program execution, certification assistance and compliance work. With his over eleven years experience with SGV/EY, he has helped jumpstart and mature the business continuity, cybersecurity and privacy management programs of clients in the telecommunications, financial services, BPO, government & public sector.
Alvin is concurrently the Resilience and Cyber Competency Lead. He enables the practice in methodology adoption & development, professional learning, certification & development, and performance management of the firm’s over 240 resilience and cyber professionals. He has crafted and conducted courses on business continuity management, chaos & reliability engineering, third party risk management, cloud security & resilience, information security management, data privacy management, among others.
Alvin has contributed to SGV’s thought leadership initiatives through staff learning & development programs, speaking and training engagements in client, industry & academic events, and business continuity & security articles in the Suits the C-Suite column in BusinessWorld.
He is committed to life-long learning. Alvin holds the Certification of the Business Continuity Institute (CBCI) with merit. He is a Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), Certified Information Security Manager (CISM), Certified Risk and Information Systems Control (CRISC), Certified Payment Industry Security Implementer (CPISI), Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA), OneTrust Privacy Professional and Certified Public Accountant (CPA).
Joanna Rose T. Laddaran, Director (Public Sector Relations)
Joanna serves as University Extension Specialist at the University of the Philippines Institute for Small-Scale Industries (UP ISSI). She has been advocating for promoting the culture of preparedness among the micro, small, and medium enterprise (MSME) sector since 2014. She has facilitated Business Continuity Planning (BCP) capacity-building training programs, workshops and awareness sessions for over 2,500 individuals from MSMEs; cooperatives; agribusinesses; and local government units, among others through the UP ISSI HANDA Program: Disaster Preparedness and BCP for MSMEs.
She is a recipient of the UP Diliman 2021 Gawad Tsanselor sa Natatanging REPS (Research, Extension, and Professional Staff) - Extension Cluster. She was also named as the “Continuity & Resilience Professional in the Public Sector” in the BCI Asia Pacific (APAC) Awards in 2020 and 2021.
Trained by the Asia Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) in Promoting SME Business Continuity Plans, and the Business As Usual’s Business Continuity & Disaster Recovery Course, she passed the ISO 22301 Foundation Certification of the Professional Evaluation and Certification Board in 2017. Her publication works include the Smart Business Guide on How to Prepare a Business Continuity Plan (2018), and the HANDA Manual: Business Continuity Planning for MSMEs (2019).
Jay S. Yabes, Director (External Relations)
Jay is an experienced Senior Consultant in the Cybersecurity and Resilience practice of SGV Consulting. He has led key business continuity engagements of the Firm and has handled industries covering telecommunications, financial service organizations, contact centers and shared services, health, investments, power & utilities and construction industries.
He specializes in the areas of BC and IT DR framework development and implementation including program management, exercising and review, Service Recovery and Resiliency, Supply Chain Continuity Management (SCCM), Operational Resilience, Contact Center Recovery including Shared Services and Enterprise Resilience.
He is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA), Certified Business Continuity Professional (CBCP) and has a Certificate of the BCI (CBCI) with Merit.
In 2019, he became the youngest Certified Business Continuity Professional (CBCP) in the Philippines at the age of 23.
